Come South! Cam Sur! Ms. Millennial 2017 Julia Gonowon’s shout out beckoned my family to visit Caramoan Island. I was thankful for this beauty pageant in the noontime show Eat Bulaga as they highlighted the beauty of Caramoan. As such,I convinced them easily to visit one of the stunning islands in Bicolandia and I was so excited to bring them here!

It became a tradition for my family to go for a swim to celebrate birthdays and other special occasions. I was glad that I learned about this emerging beach destination, Maniwaya Island from a friend. I was mesmerized to see the photos shared with me. With sheer excitement, we will celebrate my son’s incoming birthday on this island through DIY travel, where we are used to.

My family wants to go to the beach before the year ends. A dear friend of mine recommended All Hands Beach in Subic. We seldom frequented beaches in this town because we prefer to swim in Batangas which is known for its sparkling white beaches and rich marine life. But to our surprise, we were mesmerized by the stillness, clean and clear waters of All Hands Beach. It is so safe to swim because the shoreline has gradual sloping depth. It has no adjacent residential areas and rivers that is why it is away from pollution. And with this, we want to go back!

As I turned 46, we diverted the usual family beach getaway by being a kid again at Gingerbread House in Alfonso, Cavite. But my brother wanted to swim and so I recommended Masasa Beach in Tingloy Island, Batangas. Just last summer of this year, there has been much bustle about this beach and I was curious to find out for myself what this raving is all about.

For the second time with HSBC Philippines, I was so thankful that I was entitled again to redeem a free flight coming from their exciting promo. My first was in Hong Kong through Cathay Pacific and now I will travel locally via Philippine Airlines. I enjoined my hubby, my favorite travel buddy to share this wonderful moment with me, which is a prelude to our upcoming wedding anniversary this coming March.

A lovely sunny day and glistening water are what we need after a busy month of filing ITRs (Income Tax Returns). It’s time now to rejuvenate our bodies and freshen up our minds from tons of paper works. We wanted to bask in a beach resort with a swimming pool. To save time from a long trip we chose Laiya Coco Grove Resort in Laiya, Batangas which is three-hour away from Manila. After considering the distance and the expenses, we now set off to Finance’s 2017 summer getaway!
Feel the romantic ambiance of Playa Papagayo, a restaurant, bar, and beachside inn situated in front of the majestic Subic Bay bordered by green rolling hills. Relax, enjoy the morning rays of the sun as well as the sunset and savor their delectable food from Mexican specials, Thai, or Filipino dishes.

For my daughter’s 10th birthday celebration, we opted to go back to Katungkulan Beach Resort (formerly known as Cavite de Boracay) in Ternate, Cavite for another water fun adventure. Unfortunately, it was closed due to the week-long training of the marines. Our Plan B was in Ternate Beach Resort, the nearest resort known for its budget rate and accessibility.
When my sister abroad went home for a one-month vacation with her family, she told me to look for a nice beach for a water escapade. My brother who is based in Singapore came home too for a five-day vacation. This is indeed an exciting reunion with my siblings especially with my sister who got so busy with her work since they migrated to California for almost three years now.

I’ve heard about BurotBeach, formerly Elizalde Beach (owned by an affluent family, the Elizaldes) way back 2008 when my former office mates spent a summer get away here. I was in another occasion so I missed a generous amount of opportunity spending a quiet weekend getaway in a place, devoid of crowd and to where sunset offers an obstructed view of a breathtaking sea.
