The Korean have flexed their influence in the Philippines from K-drama, K-pop, health spas, grocery stores, eateries, restaurants, barbecue and even songs that girl teens love to sing out loud. With this wave in the country, it is high time to spare some money to fly in Korea to enjoy the scenery, the cool weather, and the warmth of its people.

South Batan Tour in Batanes: 19 Awesome Places to Explore

My tour of Batanes was a far cry from my previous trips to the different places in my country. It lags so much behind the modernization that it does not have luxurious hotels and huge shopping malls to boast. But while it is devoid of modern amenities, the island province emanates charm that soothes, mesmerizes and captivates. Now, that we are in our last leg of our tour, we will savor every minute to feast on other breathtaking sights and to capture memorable memories.

Summer getaway at Laiya Coco Grove, San Juan, Batangas

A lovely sunny day and glistening water are what we need after a busy month of filing ITRs (Income Tax Returns). It’s time now to rejuvenate our bodies and freshen up our minds from tons of paper works. We wanted to bask on a beach resort with swimming pool. To save time from a long trip we chose Laiya Coco Grove Resort in Laiya, Batangas which is three-hour away from Manila. After considering the distance and the expenses, we now set off to Finance’s 2017 summer getaway!

21st Philippine International Hot Air Balloon

This is our first time to watch the Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Festival, the longest-running sports event in Asia which is now on its 21st year.  I’ve heard this is the last festival, so I enjoined my family my niece and nephews to witness this exciting activity at OMNI Aviation in Clark, Pampanga which will happen on February 9 to 12, 2017.

Moonlight Resort in Laiya, San Juan, Batangas

When my sister abroad went home for a one-month vacation with her family, she told me to look for a nice beach for a water escapade. My brother who is based in Singapore came home too for a five-day vacation. This is indeed an exciting reunion with my siblings especially with my sister who got so busy with her work since they migrated to California for almost three years now.

Minor Climb No. 3: Mt. Gulugod Baboy

Mt. Gulugod Baboy in Anilao, Mabini, Batangas is frequently recommended for neophyte climbers. It is an easy climb with a picturesque view of Janao Bay, Batangas Bay, Balayan Bay, Tingloy Island and Sombrero Island. With its minor difficulty of 2/9, this mountain which stands at 525 meter above sea level is one of favorite destinations of mountaineers.

When we speak of Baler, surfing initially comes to one’s mind. Right?

Baler, the once sleepy municipality now emerges as one of the top surfing spots in the Philippines. This provincial capital of Aurora which is oftentimes mistaken as part of Quezon Province is not only all about an endless surfing in Sabang Beach. It has unspoiled waterfalls, dramatic rock formations, creamy white-sand and buffeting waves… surely Baler is worth a place to explore!

Minor Climb No. 2: Mt. Pinatubo Challenge

At my age (yes, I’m 43!), a certified mom and definitely not a mountaineer, I was a bit hesitant joining the Mt. Pinatubo challenge headed by my office mate Phil. But I’ve been waiting for this adventure for quite some time and I’m not getting any younger. With the encouragement of these two sporty girls, Joyce and Janice, I whisked off all the negative thoughts in my mind, took a one-week regular body work-out and braved this exciting getaway with my colleagues.
