Bulawan Floating Restaurant in Pililla, Rizal

The countryside charm of Pililla in the province of Rizal was mesmerizing. I thanked my husband for bringing us to a place closer to Manila that offers a unique kind of serenity. Before we head off to Wind Farm as our side trip to our wedding anniversary celebration in Bakasyunan Resort in Tanay, we will pop up our lunch in Bulawan Floating Restaurant for another unique dining experience.

The main restaurant is not floating but was built on a pond

Just last week my hubby and his friends took lunch here. They were satisfied with the food they ate and were delighted with the serene ambiance. As a satisfied customer, my hubby brought us here to experience the same satisfaction they had in the restaurant.

Bulawan Floating Restaurant is along the main road of Pililla. Their parking lot was spacious. When you get inside, you will instantly fall in love with the scenery, tranquility, and its nature ambiance. The restaurant is perched on a fish pond. There are huts, cabins, cottages, and open areas with tables, chairs, and shade trees near the pond.

this is where you will enjoy much the serenity and the nature ambiance of Bulawan Floating Restaurant

Bulawan came from a Visayan and Bicol word which means gold. It is a family-style restaurant owned by Nora Virrey, a native of Samar.

We felt the provincial appeal in this elevated cottage while eating our lunch

We initially chose the table near the pond but since there were some flies hovering around, we opted to occupy an uphill cottage. This is what we ordered:

Kilawing Tanigue (P240), Half Fried Chicken (P190), Laing (P175), Binagoongang Rice (P190), 3 plain rice (P75), 2 Saba con Yelo (P130), and 1 Halo Halo (P65), for a total of P1,195.

We observed there were only a few waiters in the vicinity and the one that took our order was a trainee. While waiting for the food we went down near the water area and watched a family busy fishing. They were so kind to lend a fishing rod to Shen who was so curious looking at them. She got so excited and waited for a fish to snap the bait and get hooked. But several minutes had passed, she did not catch fish even a small one.

For a little girl like her, it was a nice experience doing this activity as it tests her patience. A fish caught will be cooked and served with the corresponding fee. We thanked this family and returned the fishing rod to them.

When we went up again, the food was being served on the table.

Verdict:

The preparation of food took a long time. I hope they will improve their service. The food was average but affordable. What is so nice about this restaurant is the refreshing ambiance and the serenity you will get once you dine inside.

Bulawan Floating Restaurant is one of the restaurants frequented by people in the province of Rizal. It’s nice to discover new dining options and enjoy the experience. Overall, I recommend this restaurant. Try their food, enjoy fishing and bask in their relaxing ambiance.
