Boracay de Cavite is now Katungkulan Beach Resort: Part II

The summer heat is on! My kids had been longing to swim since the first day of April. My hubby and I decided to go back to Boracay de Cavite now Katungkulan Beach Resort for a beach getaway. And we set it on this holiday.

passing again the hilly mountain of Ternate

From Pasay City we took the fastest route through Cavitex (Cavite Expressway), then we passed the towns of Naic, Tanza, Maragundon, and finally at Ternate for almost two hours.

I was so delighted to see again the picturesque mountainside of Ternate. How I wish my siblings and their families are here again with us for another meaningful bonding moment just like we did way back in 2012 at Katungkulan Beach Resort. It was the first time that we all went together.

And I was so thankful because this once-in-a-lifetime family getaway happened before my sister and her family migrated abroad.

We had a pit stop in a little store beside Pico de Loro National Park to buy a cheez whiz, fried egg, and a fried hotdog for bread filling. Then we moved on to the marine camp and arrived by 7:30 am.

approaching the marine camp

Unfortunately, we were told by the officer in uniform that the resort camp was temporarily closed by morning because of the graduation ceremony of the marines. And that, it will be opened for the public by 1:00 pm.

my son was still soaring high though we can not go inside the marine camp by morning

Dismayed, we decided to head off to Nasugbu in Batangas to continue our beach getaway. Before we left the entrance gate, more and more people were coming.

the present rate this 2014

We were informed by the group of bikers that there was a beautiful beach in Barangay Patungan in Maragondon. Our spirits were lifted up again. And what was more exciting, the resort could be reached by passing the new Kaybiang Tunnel in the new Ternate-Nasugbu Road in Sta. Mercedes, Maragondon.  Yes!

Our adventure at Patungan Beach Resort is written in another story.

 In Getting There:

Through Public Transportation – take a bus ride going to Ternate via Saulog Bus in Coastal Mall (P75).  Near the terminal in Ternate town, board a tricycle (P75) minimum of 3 passengers and tell the driver to drop you off at the resort. But since there’s no public transportation at Katungkulan, tell the driver to fetch you and head back to the terminal.

Then nandon na din agad yung tricycle for just 75 pesos only? How about kapag pauwi na, paano makakalabas ng beach hanggang sa may bus going back to manila?

    • Hi Gladys,

May 17..may nkpagsbi kc s amin close daw due to said balikatan exercises..thnx much!

And I heard meron daw silang snorkeling? Just wanted to know po. Salamat po!

    • Hi calvz,
As of this date, mahirap na pong pumasok sa Patungan Cave kasi privately owned na siya. Wala naman pong entrance fee, cottage lang ang may bayad ranging from P500 to P700. Basically swimming lang po walang snorkeling. But if you really want to go there puwede ninyong hanapin si Dhags Mojica and tell the guard na kakilala ninyo siya.
      Thanks for visiting.

    • Hi Andy,
Wala pong restaurant sa resort pero me store sila na nagtitinda ng basic goodies lang like coffee sachets, biscuits, toiletries… I think yung rate is the same pa din. Okay naman pong idea ‘yan to enjoy the day with your gf.

  4. is it okay to go to cavite de boracay with a 6 years old kid? do you have any contact numbers that I can call to reserve a room for 4 (husband, wife, 12 years old and 6 years old)? so that we are guaranteed that we will have the room when we get there. our arrival is on February 14, 2015 overnight stay. I don’t want my son to stay in a tent overnight. please!

    • Hi Abigail Jane,
Yes it’s okay to bring a 6-year old child to the resort. I’m not sure if these contact numbers are still active, but do try – 09167336307 and 09054613766.

  5. May i ask if scarry po ba ang daan papuntang Katungkulan Beach?
Slopping po ba sya o mabangin? or is it plain lang po na kalsada?

    • Hi Rose,

  6. Hello ask ko lang po , required ba na magpa reserve ng cottage sa katungkulan beach , may mga close cottage ba sila coz we are planning to stay overnight with small kids .
