Munching the cheesy DJC Halo Halo in Tiwi, Albay

I’ve heard DJC Halo Halo and Snack Inn in Tiwi, Albay from my mother and friends who had tasted their creamy halo halo with their comment, superb! For our 2014 summer vacation in my hometown, I vowed myself dropping by here with my family. Aside from pili, pinangat, and chilly ice cream, Bicol has this cheesy halo halo that will complete your Albay getaway.

after so many summer vacations, finally, we’re here!

Came summer of 2014, one of our agendas is to buy decorative ceramic products at PHILCERAMICS in Barangay Putsan. And to complete our day, we gave in to our indulgence and went our way to DJC Halo Halo which is near the Tiwi Municipal Hall and a few minutes away from the town center.

And so we went inside with cravings above curiosity.  We found out that DJC Halo Halo and Snack Inn is a small restaurant which serves breakfast, lunch, and snack at an affordable price.

There are two servings of halo-halo, the Regular – P65, and the Supreme – P75. The nine of us including the kids ordered the Supreme. We were given a queue number and waited for few minutes.

The halo-halo was served not on a typical tall glass, but in a large glass bowl. This is much better especially for the kids so the ice would not spill when mixing the ingredients.

What makes this halo-halo so tasty and famous?

Let us see the ingredients:

DJC Halo halo had grated cheese, sago, ube halaya, sweetened banana, red gelatin, milk, the not-so-sweet creamy Leche plan, pieces of macapuno, and ube ice cream on top. Hmmmm…. for me it was the cheese and ube halaya that made it so delicious. My hubby, Shen, and Ax said it was the cheese, for Pao it was the ube halaya, for Magnus it was the ice cream… whatever it is, all we could say is “We want to go back here!”

The added factor why we love this halo halo is the finely crushed ice that made it so easy for us to munch it.

Honestly, I found DJC Halo Halo much better than the leading halo halo in town. My family wanted to go back here for our next summer vacation.

DJC by the way is the initial of the proprietor, Djoun G. Clutario. They have branches near Pacific Mall in Legazpi City and in Naga City.

 We cheesy love it!
