Davao Series-Day One: At Drifters British Pub and Apartelle

After a hearty dinner at Penong’s Seafoods and Grills, we boarded a taxi going to Drifters British Pub and Apartelle located inside Nova Tierra Subdivision in Lanang. The apartelle with its affordable price and cozy ambiance is a nice place to stay for the weekend.

so inviting to swim

My little girl’s eyes were beaming with excitement when she saw the swimming pool in the garden area.  But it was almost 12 midnight, time to retire our tired bodies into bed.

We took the Studio-Apartment room with cable TV, queen size bed, kitchen (equipped with kitchen utensils), dining area, spacious comfort room, study table, wi-fi facility, and a balcony. We were given an extra mattress for my teenage son.  After everything was neatly arranged, I went a while to the balcony for relaxation and a little bit of stargazing.

Our little Shen in our room

It was a beautiful night, so peaceful and so calm.  I’m sure our Davao getaway is another endearing moment to cherish. Aside from going to Samal Island, I had no idea where we will go because it was my hubby who did the itinerary. And I was so excited!

Our Samal Island tour was courtesy of Barney and his family who will be coming all the way from Cebu to join us.  But the rest of the team agreed to contribute cash for the food.

breakfast at the garden area

First Morning in Davao

Our first morning in this peaceful and clean city was so delightful. Shen who is not used to waking up early rose up by 5:30 am. We told her it was so early to swim. She waited patiently and went down excitedly upon the opening time for swimming.  My hubby and I cooked for breakfast. We brought our food in the dining area near the swimming pool and feasted on fried rice, fried eggs, and dried pusit, with hot coffee and hot milo for my kids. Barney left us momentarily to fetch her family at the airport. Afterward, we ate durian and marang. For me, marang is more delicious than durian.

yummy marang

After cleaning the table and washing the dishes, we went down to the Pirates Pub in the underground basement. The bar offers a wide range of bottled liquors, beers, soft drinks with Western and Filipino menus. It has a wi-fi facility, book section, and a billiard pool table to where the boys spent time playing on it.

I went back to the garden area to look after my little girl having fun on the water.  Later all the boys went up and frolicked excitedly on the swimming pool.

We packed our things after lunch and were fetched by Barney and his brother-in-law by 1:00 pm for our Samal Island adventure.
