I was bewitched when I first saw the picture-perfect of Bulog Dos Island in Coron, Palawan as shared by a fellow blogger. Immersing in its crystal-clear water in solitude would definitely mean, “A taste of paradise” for me. Island hopping to Bulog Dos, Banana Island, and Malcapuya Island is part of our much-awaited exhilarating Coron adventure. All are part of the Calamian Islands or the Calamianes.

The captivating Bulog Dos

Since there is no sunrise for photo activity early morning, we headed to Coron town for breakfast. Then we headed to the public market and bought fresh fish and crabs to be cooked on the island and fruits for dessert. Our boatmen were already waiting for us when we went back to Birang Guest House. It was much bigger than our boat yesterday in our Coron Loop. Boat rental – Php3,500.

Yours truly and my hubby in our dream island

It took us one hour and fifteen minutes to reach our first destination, Bulog Dos. There was a rush of adrenalin as we were approaching the island. I just can’t explain how I felt by looking down at the crystal-clear water. Was I dreaming? Fish and corals were visible that I wanted to jump and swim with those wonderful sea creatures. Later, every one of us stood in the boat agape with wonder.

Bulog Dos led us to a place that was untouched, unspoiled, enchanting, stunning… free from evil modernization. Its dazzling beauty was truly captivating.

As we stepped onto the island, my hubby and I got so busy taking pictures. Froi and Marie were busy snorkeling. We set our tripod and took pictures of Malaroyroy Island which was a few distances away from Bulog Dos. It was also beautiful with more nipa houses on the beachfront, while Bulog Dos had only one nipa hut surrounded by sparse trees. I just couldn’t get enough of the place. Every part of the island was so delightful to gaze at. The craggy rock formations were so unique to behold.

We headed to the southern part of the island. There was a sandbar that shaped like the letter W surrounded by clear and shallow water. My heart wanted to jump, the view was so amazing, and it was an absolute feast for our eyes. Then I started capturing beautiful pictures.

It was so refreshing as we walked around because the creamy white sand was very fine and soft. I saw a small fish, transparent in color in a shallow area. I was thinking it was an enchanted fish because it stayed in the water looking at me intently. I immediately snapped a shot. When it swam away, I realized, maybe the little cutie fish wanted to impart something on us.

Don’t worry little fish, we are earth-friendly, we will leave this island free from waists and unharmed.

Snorkeling was enjoyable. We swam here and there to see the beautiful underwater world. It was very clean under the water, with no traces of pollution.  So nice to swim.

My heart sank when they told me to pack up.  I just can’t leave the place. Words can’t properly express the tranquility I felt here. I still wanted to stay, especially on the sand bar, to lie on the sand and look at the blue horizon.

If there is a place that we will go back to enjoy again, surely, it would be here in Bulog Dos, and it will be with our kids.

This is our first time to set foot on a beautiful paradise-like island. The serenity, the spectacular view, the stillness of this place is a wonderful experience to be cherished in a lifetime. Superb beauty!  I just love Bulog Dos! It was simply enchanting and magical!
